The five lessons

Lesson 1

What's a cloud?

This is the sixteenth official lesson of our 180-lesson Big Course. Along the way to the answer, you'll see what a cloud looks like up CLOSE, understand what's in a boiling bubble, and learn the secret name of Mountain Dew.

Aaaaaand you'll learn the secret name of a runny nose. So, you'll have that going for you.

This is a free preview.

Lesson 2

Why do clouds float?

This is the seventeenth official lesson of our 180-lesson Big Course. Along the way to the answer, you'll see how little a cloud really weighs, what "buoyancy" means, and how you can really understand what's going on with the Universe.

Aaaaaand you'll learn what (alas) happened to my daughter at her first birthday party.

Lesson 3

Why do clouds float?

This is the eighteenth official lesson of our 180-lesson Big Course. Along the way to the answer, you'll get a map of the sky, find out where a helium balloon REALLY goes when you let go of it, and understand how to make ANYTHING float.

Oh - you'll also see how Aristotle made sense of flotation, which is great, because even though it's WRONG, it's quite HELPFULLY wrong.

Lesson 4

What's a raindrop?

This is the nineteenth official lesson of our 180-Big Course. Along the way to the answer, you'll learn where to find your local vultures, see the part of a cloud you can't see, and learn the lie that EVERY SCIENCE TEACHER EVER has told their class (see, it's not just me).

Lesson 5

What's lightning?

This is the twentieth official lesson of our 180-lesson Big Course. Along the way to the answer, you'll learn what your ancestors thought about lightning, why you weigh less at the bottom of a slide than at the top, and what it would be like to fall into a thundercloud.

Oh, and you'll also learn a cool little trick about how to "taboo" a word to understand a concept better.

Secret Sixth

How can a mushroom grow taller than a storm?

This WOULD be the twenty-somethingth official lesson of our 180-lesson Big Course... but this ISN'T an official lesson! It's one of our Secret Sixths. In any case, along the way to the answer, you'll learn what's in the super-secret sky, how scientists and politicians working together saved us all from cancer, and... goombas. So, so many goombas.
